  • American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)

    Language study grants awarded to graduate and exceptional undergraduate students.
  • American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF)                                                                                                                                                            Promotes international and cultural exchange between the United States and Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
  • Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project Clearinghouse (ATJ)

    These scholarships cover travel and living expenses for undergraduate students studying in Japan.  Awards can range from $2,500-$4,000.  The Morgan Stanley Dean Witter award provides two $7,500 scholarships for an academic year of study in Japan. 
  • The Bnai Zion J. Philip Bromberg Israel Scientific Award

  • Critical Language Scholarships for Intensive Summer Institutes (CLS)

    The United States Department of State is pleased to announce the upcoming scholarship competition for overseas intensive summer language institutes in thirteen critical need foreign languages for summer. The on-line application for CLS Program awards will be available in November and the deadline to apply will be in December. Contact Therese Tardio for more information or assistance in applying.

    Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) provide group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks. Levels available for each language are as follows: Arabic: Advanced beginning, intermediate or advanced level; Bangla/Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Turkish, or Urdu:

    Beginning, intermediate or advanced level; Azerbaijani, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, or Russian: Intermediate or advanced level.

    The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government interagency effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical need foreign languages. Students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply. Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers. Eligibility: All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a U.S. degree-granting program at the undergraduate* or graduate level. All candidates must have completed at least their first year of university-level study before their summer study abroad.
  • DAAD

  • DiversityAbroad.com Study Abroad Scholarship

    Diversity Abroad in conjunction with the AIFS Foundation annually offers scholarships for Fall, Spring and Summer opportunities abroad. For more information on this scholarship as well as information on a variety of other scholarship opportunities, visit Diversity Abroad's website.
  • Foundation for Asia Pacific Education Scholarships

    General study abroad scholarships are available to students studying in the Asia Pacific region. Students from underrepresented populations in international education are a priority.
  • Foundation for Global Scholars

    A consortium of scholarships for US and Canadian students enrolled in higher education to fund opportunities abroad.
  • The Fund for Education Abroad scholarships

    Scholarships designed to increase the opportunities for dedicated American students to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs by reducing financial restrictions through the provision of grants and scholarships.S
  • The Gates Cambridge Scholarships

    Scholarships for gradute study for American students at the University of Cambridge. Award covers full cost of study at Cambridge plus airfare to and from the U.K. Campus Deadline is in September and the application deadeline is in October.   • The George J. Mitchell Scholarships

    Seniors, alumni, and graduate students no older than 30 to study in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Award covers tuition, housing, a $12,000 living expenses stipend, and international travel.   • Go! Overseas Scholarships

    Go! Study Abroad Scholarships provide up to $1000 for students taking advantage of international education - through Study Abroad scholarships, Teach Abroad scholarships, and Volunteer Abroad scholarships. Application deadlines vary throughout the year, and the awards are based upon the applicant's creativity and analytical thinking regarding their study abroad experience.
  • Humboldt German Chancellor Scholarship

    This scholarship is for candidates holding a doctoral degree, who wish to do research in Germany for a year.
  • IIE Study Abroad Grants

    Gilman International:  A scholarship opportunity for students receiving a Pell Grant.

    Fulbright: A prestigious national scholarship administered by Carnegie Mellon. (See section A for details.) 

    NSEP: A federal scholarship administered by Carnegie Mellon. (See section A for details.)
  • LivFund Scholarship

    Scholarship available for students interested in learning, interning or volunteering in Latin America.
  • Monbusho Scholarships

    Monbusho (Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, Government of Japan) Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in studying or doing research in Japan. 
  • PHI KAPPA PHI Study Abroad and Internship Grants

    Twenty grants of $1000 each are awarded to undergraduates for cultural and intellectual enrichment abroad.
  • Rhodes Scholarship Program

    Seniors and graduate students who are U.S. citizens to study at Oxford. Award covers all educational costs, tuition, fees, and travel.   • Rotary Foundation Scholarships

    The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International offers three types of study abroad scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students:  Academic-Year, Multi-Year and Cultural Scholarships (for three to six months).  For assistance in applying please contact Therese Tardio.
  • Taiwan's Ministry of Education Mandarin Enrichment Scholarship Program

    The scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Republic of China (Taiwan), is aimed at assisting promising foreign students to study in university-affiliated Chinese language centers in Taiwan.
  • ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship

    This fund supports highly qualified U.S. or Canadian undergraduate or graduate students in doing research for 2 to 3 months at a public Swiss university or research insitution.  It is open to all fields with varioud deadlines throughout the year.   • Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarships

    For graduate work in engineering, mathematics and science at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Must be a U.S. citizen. Award covers all Cambridge University fees & tuition, plus a living allowance and travel expenses, with a total value between $48,000 and $50,000.
